In celebration of the 100th anniversary of women gaining the right to vote in the UK, and to mark International Women’s Day, Ria launched Wonder Women Live! A celebratory event which involved an inspirational panel discussion with three esteemed female trailblazers who are leading the way in Television.

Held in the brand new, state-of-the-art studio in White City Place, Wonder Women Live! brought together 100 phenomenal women who work in Television to share stories, make new connections and to network.

Guests were treated to a rousing keynote speech from the CEO of the Royal Television Society’s, Theresa Wise who encouraged women to “Embrace failure. Trust your gut, hold your boundaries in moments of conflict and feel the fear and do it anyway” setting the tone perfectly for an honest and open discussion.

Guests then heard from award-winning BBC Commissioning Editor, Religion & Ethics, Fatima Salaria; Creative Director & Executive Producer, Lucy Pilkington and Director of International Strategy, PACT Dawn McCarthy-Simpson MBE as they discussed the highs and lows of their careers and their experiences of working in the industry.

The panel shared a wealth of inspirational wisdom, revealing helpful tips and career advice such as how to negotiate your worth, the importance of support networks while raising a family and the pros and cons of freelancing.
